In November 2024, the German U17 national team headed to Side, Turkey, for a training camp, where a week of intense training, competition and team development awaited. The journey began on November 12^th with an evening flight to Antalya, followed by a transfer to The Sense Deluxe Hotel. The team settled in, enjoyed a late dinner and prepared for the days ahead.

The first few days were focused on training and preparation. With world-class facilities, including multiple pools, a fitness center and easy beach access, the hotel offered the perfect base for hard work but also for time to rest. Training sessions were paired with meetings to discuss tactics and analyze the opponents. During the first days there also was time for academic study and relaxation, ensuring a great balance and helping players to focus.

On November 15^th, the players attended a match between Turkey U16 and Germany U16, observing their friends and taking in the atmosphere of the competition. Watching from the sidelines gave them some valuable insights as they prepared for their first match two days later.

On November 17^th the team played its first match against the Netherlands U17. Both teams delivered a strong and competitive performance, with Germany showing resilience and great teamwork. The game ended in a 2-2 draw; penalties ultimately tipped the scales in favor of Germany. This match was a valuable learning experience for the team, who quickly turned their focus to recovery and improvement.

The players also had moments to unwind during their stay. Free afternoons were spent bonding as a team, engaging in group activities, or enjoying the hotel’s facilities. These moments provided balance and helped the players stay sharp for the challenge ahead.

On November 19^th, Germany faced Antalyaspor U19 in a friendly match. The game tested the team’s adaptability and skill against older and more physical players. After 90 minutes this game ended in a 2-1 win for Antalyaspor, despite the loss the match was an opportunity for growth and gave the team valuable insight  in what ways the team needs improvement.

The trip concluded on November 20^th with an early departure from the hotel and a return flight to Germany. With teamwork and dedication, the German U17’s improved themselves on and off the field, leaving Side with valuable lessons and shared memories.
