Tour Overview

From July 31 till August 12, the boys of Northampton Town enjoyed a successful footballtour in the Netherlands. Orange Veins had completely organized their trip with a stay at the Fletcher Hotel in Winterswijk, near their training complex. The U18 team also played several friendly matches to get ready for a new season.

The tour had many different activities. Activities on and off the pitch: training sessions, reflective work sessions, friendly games, language sessions, stadium tour and of course some free time.

They played a total of three friendly matches. The first game was against SBV Excelsior U18, the second one against De Graafschap U18 and the last friendly match they played was against VFL Bochum U19. These matches where perfect to prepare the players for the new season.

These tours are great for players to develop themselves on and off the pitch. Friendly matches like these are important and a good tool to measure the level with players form other countries.
